Case Study: Site Speed Optimisation

🏢 Business: My own website – Thirsty Skin Fix
🎯 Goal:
Improve website performance which in long term will help increase conversions and boost organic traffic]

Problem

My website suffered from slow page load times, which negatively impacted user engagement and conversions. Visitors were leaving before exploring the content, resulting in fewer page views, a higher bounce rate, and missed opportunities for lead generation. Additionally, the slow performance risked affecting search engine indexation and rankings.

Solution

I conducted a full site speed audit to identify bottlenecks such as large image files, unoptimized code, and server response delays. I implemented key optimisations — including compressing images, minifying CSS/JS, enabling caching, and improving server response times — to ensure faster page loading across all devices.

Tools/plugins used:
1. Duplicator (website backup) – better to stay safe than sorry in case the site breaks during the heavy compression method during optimisation.
2. Autoptimise
3. WP Fastest Cache
4. Async Javascript
5. Smush
6. WP Lazy Load
